Continuation of Fred Cooper's Teaching on the Paramitas: Sat. Feb. 18

Dr. Fred Cooper continues the teachings begun in January on Working with the 6 Paramitas (Perfections) using Calm Abiding and Insightful Meditation at the Herman Rednick Center, 40 Lorien Road, Questa NM.

The class is open for continuers from the January class or for those who could not attend it. Last month we focussed on calm abiding and using those methods to work with the Paramitas.  We practiced together and all felt the deep stillness and potential efficacy of the work.  On Saturday, Feb. 18, Fred will continue, diving into teachings on insight meditation and practice.

Fred gives a 5-step process as elucidated in the text "Ocean of Definitive Meaning" by the 9th Karmapa. These "Perfections" include Generosity, Morality, Patience, Diligence, Meditation, and Wisdom.

Fred Cooper, PhD, is a close disciple of H.E. Kenting Tai Situpa.  He has taught for over 20 years at Kagyu Centers in the U.S., is on the external faculty of the Santa Fe Institute, and is the President of KSK Buddhist Center.
