fred cooper to teach on Green Tara Jan 24-25

Welcoming in the New Year, we invite you to two days of teaching on the short  Green Tara practice being given by Dr. Fred Cooper, hosted by the Kagyu Mila Guru Sangha and Herman Rednick Trust.

THE TEACHING
Green Tara is known as the Mother of all Buddhas, she herself a female Buddha of Compassion who protects from the eight worldly fears and dangers: lions, elephants, fire, snakes, thieves, floods, imprisonment, and evil spirits.

LOCATION
Herman Rednick Center, #40 Lorien Rd. (number will soon change to #28) Questa, NM 87556. This teaching will be held both in person and on Zoom. RSVP info (at) earthjourney (dot) org by January 23, 2025, if you would like to attend by Zoom.

SCHEDULE
Friday, January 24

First Session:  1-3 pm (MDT)
Tea break: 3-3:45 pm
Second Session: 3:45-5 pm
(Potential evening practice:  7-8 pm)

Saturday, January 25

First Session: 10 am – noon
Lunch break (bring your own bag lunch): noon – 1 pm
Second Session: 1 – 2:30 pm

COVID PRECAUTIONS
As Covid is spreading again, masks are suggested but not required, although we ask if you have any cold symptoms to attend on Zoom instead of in person.

SUGGESTED DONATION
$15/session or $50 for the two days, but no one is turned away for lack of funds or for a smaller offering; everything helps. Please contribute using the donate button on this site, and make a note “for teachings.” What is collected goes to the teacher, and we are so happy to share such Dharma.

THE TEACHER
Dr. Cooper has received extensive Mahamudra and Dzogchen teachings from his guru Vajradara HE Khentin T’ai Situ Rinpoche, as well as from VV Mingyur Rinpoche. He teaches at various Karma Kagyu centers. He is the president of KSK Buddhist Center in Santa Fe, as well as being a theoretical physicist associated with the Santa Fe Institute and Los Alamos National Labs.
